Ski Safari Adds 14 New Resorts

Ski Safari is including 14 new resorts for 2013-14 in its expanding winter sports programme.

Austria and Italy have been added to the European portfolio. Scandinavia was new last season and, following its success, the family resort of Tyrsil in Norway has been introduced. In keeping with the spirit of Ski Safari, the Red and Whitewater safari and the all-American Classic Colorado safari are new additions for 2013-14.

Skiiers to Austria can now choose from St Anton, Kitzbühel, Obergurgl, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Zell am See, Galtür and Sölden, plus city skiing from Tirol’s capital, Innsbruck. As an example of prices, Ski Safari has four nights at the three-star Mountain Hotel Schmittenhöhe on half board basis at 2000m above village of Zell am See with flights, cable car transfer and car hire starting from £559 per person or a seven-night holiday at four-star Hotel Austria in Obergurgl on half-board basis from £999 per person with flights and transfers.

The Italian resorts of Cortina d’Ampezzo, Madonna di Campiglio and Santa Cristina are also included for the first time, chosen because they offer great skiing matched with great style, high-end accommodation, reliable snow records, amazing scenery and great food. Seven nights at the five-star Cristallo Hotel Spa & Golf in Cortina dAmpezzo on bed and breakfast basis starts from £1389 per person and seven nights at the four-star-plus DV Chalet Boutique Hotel & Spa in Madonna di Campiglio, on bed and breakfast basis starts from £879 per person. A week at the ski-in, ski-out four-star Sporthotel Monte Pana in Santa Cristina on half board basis is priced from £1229 per person. All prices include return flights and resort transfers.

Located two hours north of Oslo, the family-friendly resort of Tyrsil is new to Ski Safari's Scandinavian portfolio and perfect for beginners and intermediates. The majority of the accommodation options present ski-in ski-out convenience and the ski school is right on the doorstep, taking children from three years old. Seven nights from 22nd December 2013 at the four-star Radisson Blu Resort Trysil on half board basis costs from £3695 for a family of four staying in a deluxe room, with flights and transfers. At the three-star Fjellblikk self-catering apartments in January 2014, prices start from £535 per person based on four sharing.

A new American option, a Classic Colorado safari is the ultimate road trip adventure, bringing together three of America’s most iconic ski towns, Crested Butte, Telluride and Aspen. The 14-night trip starts from £1650 per person including hotels, flights and hire of an SUV.  Accommodation is one night in a three-star in Denver, four nights at a three-star in Crested Butte, five nights in a three-star in Telluride and four nights in a four-star hotel in Aspen/Snowmass.
