Peter Sommer Four New Tours for 2015

Cultural and archaeological tour specialist Peter Sommer Travels has introduced four new trips to its 2015 brochure, which now includes 25 itineraries across three countries. The latest additions include land-based excursions in Greece and Italy, plus a new gulet cruise along Turkey’s Carian Coast.

One new option is a 13-night Exploring the Peloponnese trip to Greece. Costing £3595 per person, based on two sharing, highlights include six UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Bronze Age fortifications of Tiryns and Mycenae, the beautifully-preserved theatre at Epidaurus and the Byzantine enclaves of Mystras. There are also visits to undiscovered spots far off the beaten track, such as the cliff-top monasteries of Arcadia and the frescoed churches of the Mani peninsula. Gourmet travellers will have ample opportunities to enjoy fine food and wine throughout.

The other new tours are a 13-night exploration of the archaeology, food and wine of Macedonia and a seven-night trip to Rome. All Peter Sommer tours include full board accommodation in 3 to 5 star hotels, airport transfers, all entrance fees and expert guiding. Flights are extra.

The new trip to Turkey is a cruise aboard a traditional wooden gulet along the unspoilt Carian Coast, which includes daily walks along sections of the recently opened Carian Trail. An expert guide will be on hand to bring to life the Byzantine churches, ancient towns and historic remains. Departing October 3 2015, the seven-night trip costs £2175 per person (based on two sharing) including airport transfers, full-board accommodation, crew, all entrance fees and expert guiding. Flights are extra.
