Iberia Adds Flights From UK

Iberia has announced that it will launch flights from Madrid to Edinburgh and Manchester in 2015.

Flights to Edinburgh will start in March and initially will operate four times a week, increasing to six in high season. Flights to Manchester will start in September, initially operating four times a week. In addition, Iberia has announced that it will increase flights to London with twice-daily flights to Gatwick from March 2015.

The three routes will be operated by Iberia Express.

Iberia currently flies up to eight times a day to Heathrow and offers another five daily flights on the same route under code-sharing with sister airline British Airways.

In all, the Spanish airline has announced 13 new routes and additional frequencies for its summer 2015 schedule. From its base in Madrid, the airline plans to operate flights to other new destinations including Florence, Naples, Palermo, Catania and Verona in Italy, Hamburg in Germany, Funchal in Portugal, Budapest in Hungary and Paris Charles de Gaulle in France. It will also launch a non-stop flight from Asturias in the north of Spain to Tenerife in the Canary Islands.

Alongside its new routes, the Iberia Group will add 65 weekly flights to 24 existing Spanish, European and long-haul routes. These include destinations such as Mexico City, New York, Paris Orly, Lisbon, Tel Aviv, Venice, Dublin, Prague, Berlin, Stuttgart, Asturias, the Canary and Balearic Islands, and Galicia in northern Spain.
