GIC The Villa Collection Recommends Kefalonia

Greek Islands Club The Villa Collection is promoting holidays to the sun-soaked Ionian island of Kefalonia for summer 2013. The operator features 25 properties on the island ranging from exclusive escapes to a base that won’t break the bank balance.

Renowned as a beach lover’s paradise, Kefalonia boasts a string of sandy bays and beaches. Its south coast features the dramatic backdrop of Mount Aenos, with cliffs that submerge into the sea and lush green landscapes of olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees. Visit the island’s prettiest village, Fiscardo, with its pastel-painted 18th century Venetian houses clustered by the harbour, retaining the charm and ambience of a by-gone era. On either side of the bay, secluded coves and pebbled beaches are lapped by crystal-clear water, and forested hillsides surround the village. Discover archaeological and historical gems by visiting the numerous villages and hamlets across the island, and glean insider information from the friendly locals.

For budget breaks,  GIC The Villa Collection suggests Vassili’s Apartment in Fiscardo. Seven nights start from £741 per person based on four sharing.  For a room with a view, the operator recommends Villa Dina on the edge of the pretty village of Kaligata, close to the foothills of Mount Aenos. Stylishly furnished, the villa offers relaxing surroundings and its own pool and well-kept gardens. Seven nights at Villa Dina in August cost from £892 per person (six sharing).

All prices include return flights from Gatwick, car hire where applicable (or transfers), a complimentary welcome pack, plus maid service and linen change twice weekly.
