Cruise and Maritime Northern Lights Cruises

The best place to see the Northern Lights is above the Arctic Circle in Northern Norway. Cruise & Maritime Voyages has four cruise departures from the UK in 2011 offering the opportunity to see the light show from the ports of Tromso and at Alta where the ship stops overnight.

Marco Polo departs from the London Cruise Terminal at Tilbury for a 14-night cruise on February 21, March 7 and March 21. Ocean Countess departs from Hull for a 13-night cruise on March 20.

The journey up to the Arctic Circle follows the Norwegian coastline visiting Molde, Narvik and Svolvaer in the Lofoten Islands and further north to Tromso and then Alta which is within the Arctic Circle. Guests stay overnight on board in Alta before cruising down to Alesund, one of the main gateways to the fjords, and visiting Bergen on the way back.

Prices start from £1099 per person, based on two people sharing an inside cabin.

C&M's early booking sale, with savings of 10% on selected Marco Polo and Ocean Countess cruising, is valid for bookings until January 31 2011.
