AirAsia X has announced that it plans to cease operations at Stansted Airport and flights between Kuala Lumpur and London will operate via Gatwick Airport with effect from October 24 2011. Passengers with existing bookings from Stansted after October 24 will be offered bus transfers where needed.
The budget long-haul carrier currently flies six times a week between Stansted and Kuala Lumpur where passengers can connect into the Malaysian airline's network across Southeast Asia including Bombay, Delhi, Melbourne, Perth, Christchurch, Wellington and several cities in China.
AirAsia X is currently offering Economy one-way all-in fares on the Gatwick-Kuala Lumpur route from £338 when booked between July 12 and 24 2011 for travel between February 6 and June 20 2012.
